Mother, Teenage Daughter, and Daughter’s Boyfriend Remanded Over Brutal Murder of Father

In a chilling case that has shocked residents of Kitebe village in Seeta Nazigo parish, Nakisunga sub-county, Mukono District, a mother, her 16-year old daughter, and the daughter’s 17-year-old boyfriend have been remanded in custody on charges of murdering the girl’s father.

The suspects Alice Mbolanyi  40,  Caroline Nakalema 16 and  Lawrence Makumbi  17 all residents of the same village appeared before Senior Grade one  Magistrate Jacob Okoth Osilo at the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Mukono today .

They face two counts Murder and being accessories after the fact for allegedly helping to conceal the crime.

The court did not allow the trio to plead or speak as murder is a capital offence triable only by the High Court.

Magistrate Osilo remanded Mbolanyi to Kauga Prison  while the two teenagers were sent to Naguru Remand Home . They will return to court on April 8, 2026, for mention as investigations continue.

Prosecution alleges that on Sunday /March/ 1/ 2026, the three conspired and killed Charles Kisekka Nakalema’s father. After the killing, they reportedly tied his body with a rope, stuffed it into a sack (kutiiya) dragged it and dumped it on the roadside.

Passersby heading to their gardens in the early morning discovered the body and raised an alarm, alerting residents and police.

Kisekka, who had been missing for several days, was later confirmed dead. His body showed signs consistent with foul play, including being strangled according to initial reports from the area.

The court proceedings drew a heavy presence from the deceased’s family members including his mother Lendivina Nabatanzi and brothers Fred Mugagga and Joel Kanyike.

Nabatanzi told journalists outside court that she learned of her son’s death through a concerned person who informed her. She first reported the matter at Kisoga Police Post, which referred her to Mukono Central Police Station, where she identified the body

She painted a picture of long-standing marital discord, saying that since her son married Mbolanyi 27 years ago at St. Augustine Church in Seeta, the union started well for the first three years but later deteriorated sharply.

Fred Mugagga, the elder brother, recounted how he received the devastating news. When he saw Nakalema, Mbolanyi, and one of the deceased’s young sons, he questioned them about Kisekka’s whereabouts. He revealed that his late brother had repeatedly complained to him that Mbolanyi had stopped cooking for him and was mistreating him in the home.

Joel Kanyike, a younger brother residing in Jjogo, dismissed rumors that the murder stemmed from a dispute over unpaid bride price. Instead, he described deep-seated conflicts in the marriage.

According to family accounts, the once-happy couple’s relationship soured to the point where Mbolanyi allegedly chased away Kisekka’s relatives from their home. The domestic violence reportedly escalated, with Kisekka on the receiving end of repeated abuse.

Family members expressed both grief and anger, calling for justice for Charles Kisekka. As the April 8 mention date approaches, the community in Kitebe and surrounding areas continues to grapple with the horror of a father allegedly murdered by his own wife, daughter, and her young boyfriend.
