Horrific Murder Shocks Lwengo Village
A gruesome tragedy unfolded in Nkunyu village, Lwengo Rural Sub-county, where a 30-year-old woman, Nasuuna Rehema, was brutally murdered by her lover in a case that has left the community reeling. The assailant killed their child before setting their home ablaze and taking his own life in a shocking murder-suicide.
The attacker arrived at the victim's home with disturbing items, including salt, soap, and paraffin. Rehema's father, Kibuule Jibuliiru, reported his daughter had quarrelled with her partner days earlier. The killer methodically packed the victim's belongings before committing the horrific acts.

Local chairman Edward Bbaale condemned the rising violence among youth, urging couples to utilise village mediation services rather than resorting to rage. The victim's aunt, Kasagga Isma, revealed the killer had borrowed 1,000 shillings from her son hours before the attack under false pretences.
Lwengo District Police, led by SP Richard Asiimwe, secured the crime scene and transported the bodies to Masaka mortuary for autopsy as investigations continue. Authorities are treating this as a severe case of intimate partner violence with premeditated elements.
