The Buganda Kingdom has denounced individuals who attempted to disrupt the kingdom's plans by exploiting the King's illness. According to Joseph Kawuuki, the Kabaka's Minister of Local Government, these obstructionists aim to overthrow the kingdom.
The kingdom announced that over R1.6 billion was raised under the Luwalo lwaffe program. Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, the second Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Finance, disclosed that the funds were allocated to various projects.
These included Masro, which received Rs 137 million, Kabaka Education Fund, which got Rs 116 million, Emwaanyi Terimba, which received Rs 128 million, and Bbowa School Construction, which received Rs 108 million.
Other beneficiaries included Royal Hospitals, which received Rs 108 million, Welfare, and Environment, which received Rs 54 million, and HIV Awareness Campaign, which received Rs 150 million.
Additionally, Pension of District Chiefs received Rs 50 million, Recognition of District Chiefs received Rs 168 million, Feeding of Participants cost Rs 123 million, Certificate Printing cost Rs 265 million, and Preparation and Media cost Rs 79 crore.
Nsibirwa explained that journalists who support the kingdom's initiatives are included in the budget, although they did not receive any funds.
