The business has resumed & seemingly booming at Babuyirana butcher men development association despite the resistance of leadership from Alisam Company who still need to operate in shifts.
According to the chairperson of Babuyirana butcher men development association Mwesigye Moses, said since they have re-opened they were not ready to operate in shifts because it’s not stipulated shifts in such business.
Moses said that one of the injured was transferred to Mbarara general hospital others are still hospitalized at Bwera hospital among those who were shot last week during the conflict between the two abattoirs.
He appealed to the H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to set up a team to investigate the matter, adding that government should compensate people that lost their properties.
Sunday Swalah said if they shutdown Babuyirana abattoir market, over ten thousand benefiting people would have been left jobless.
Harriet Masika a trader in Babuyirana abattoir market, praised God over the resume of the market because it is the only source of income for the school fee for their children.
According to the veterinary doctor Godfrey Mbahimba, during the conflict they inspected only two cows, adding that they suspect that people could have slaughtered cattle in bushes without any inspection.
