What started as year became months, months become days and now it is only a few hours to the AFCON 2019 opening match in Cairo Egypt.

The opening game will be played in a 74,100 seater Cairo international stadium, in addition, all Uganda cranes group games will be played in the same stadium.

The Uganda cranes on Thursday happened to step into this stadium though they were not permitted to train in it, afterwards, they travelled 4 km away to contractors’ stadium.

Fortunately, the Cranes team continues to receive sponsorship as the Uganda tourism board UTB gave 200m to the team through FUFA president deputies Justus Mugisha and Arious Mugoye

In this deal, ‘visit Uganda’ is to be inscribed on cranes materials besides the on-pitch jerseys and the stadium, in the same way, part of the money will be injected in the FUFA drum tournament arrangements.

The AFCON will kick at 11 pm as Egypt the Pharaohs tosses it out with Zimbabwe the ‘abalwani’ in the opening game. The Uganda cranes will be playing the first game with DRC alias the leopards on Saturday 22 June
