The Association of National Olympic Committee of Africa ANOC awarded the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni with ANOC  order merit which is the highest in African sports .

President Museveni was decorated by Mustapha Berraf the ANOC  president at the state house during the ceremony attended by both the government officials and ANOC delegates in Entebbe.

The minister of education and sports who also doubles as the first lady Janet Kataha Museveni applauded the president for the ward and added that this indicates that Uganda is advanced in the field of sports.

According to the president, the government efforts and establishments have seen sports grow to greater heights. In the same way, the president emphasised to the nation the importance of sports and cited the fact that many Ugandans have  earned a fortune from sports.

Meanwhile, the ANOC  delegates came to Uganda to attend the 55 ANOC convention which has been hosted by ganda.
