In 2018 Uganda participated for the first time in the badminton U19 world cup competition in Canada. Out of the 40 nations that participated, Uganda merged 30th in the completions. Once again Uganda is participating in the same competition represented by 6 players; including 3 male and 3 female players.
On the boys' side include; Brian Kasirye the team captain, Ahart Mohammed & Waswa Samuel and the girls' side include; Fadilah Shamikah, Husina Kobugabe &Naluwoza Tracy with Ivan Kalimunda as the team coach.
After being handed the national flag the team reassured to return home with a victory. The coach said that though the journey has been challenging, this will only give the team mileage. The team will be travelling to tonight with the Turkish airways. The tournament will be going from 30th September to 12th October.
