There is a bitter row between sports lovers and Mbarara district local government for alleged mismanagement of Kakyeka stadium.
This comes after the Federation of Uganda Football Associations-FUFA declined to approve the stadium as the home ground for Mbarara city football club.
As a result, the Ankole Lions host their premier league games in Kampala, which makes their fans to miss out on the games.
The district is particularly faulted for renting out the stadium including the pitch to host crusades and trade shows among other activities that leave it in a mess.
Barham Ndyaguma, the Speaker Mbarara district, which manages the facility, says the district is not to blame. He says that the facility is multipurpose and cannot be restricted to football alone.
