There was jubilation at Entebbe airport at the welcoming of the team that represented Uganda in all African games that in Morocco that took 2 weeks. After winning 2 silver medals and 6 bronze medals, Uganda took the twenty-eighth position out of the 41 teams that participated in the competitions.
Uganda won 2 medals through athletes including Halima Nakayi in 800m and 400m, 1 bronze medal in Badminton women doubles by Mbabazi Gladys and Nakiyemba Aisha. The boxers won 3 medals by Semujju David and Isaac Masembe who won silver medals and Baleke Hellen a bronze medal. Harold Wanyama, through Chesse won a bronze medal though he was participating in the competitions for the first time. Kubo Zubairi a weight lifter won a bronze medal. Zubairi said that though the journey was quite challenging, he is aspiring to achieve greater heights.
Ssemujju David Kavuma a boxer said that if it was for cheating he would have won a gold medal. Meanwhile, the team captain affirmed that he has returned back with all the team members.
