Key figures battle for Mawokota North and South parliamentary seats

As the campaigns for the 2026 general elections soon to kick off key figures are in the race for parliamentary elections.

The Electoral Commission is to nominate aspiring members of parliament on the 15th-16th October.

Those aspiring to represent Mawokota South and Mawokota North have started grass root campaign to unseat the incumbents.

Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi has highlighted his assistance to female developmental group.

In Mawokota North, Amelia Kyambadde of NRM wants to unseat Hilary Kiyaga of NUP, and Kyambadde has cautioned voters to vote wisely.

People have complained about service delivery and security in the area.

In the same development Police in the Katonga region have being training ahead of the general elections.

SP Martin Odera says the situation in the constituency is calm so far.

Mpigi District Deputy RDC Yahaya Kavuma has cautioned the nominated candidates that campaigns have not stated.
