Tragedy in Mukono, a lady tried to take her life by slipping and swallowing the capsules in an overdose frenzy.

A tragedy has occurred at Lweza village in Mukono Central Division in Kibuuga Mukono, where a lady tried to take her life by slipping and swallowing the capsules in an overdose frenzy.

The girl, identified as Brendah Tuhaisi, allegedly left Kamwenge district, but it is believed that she had just returned from abroad when she came to a friend identified as Mercy and started living with her, but unfortunately, she left the country and left it in Arabia to travel abroad. She is staying in his rented single room.

The residents and neighbours told us that they saw her this afternoon as he was collecting water, but one of the neighbours suspected that he appeared to be unwell. They also noticed that he had cut off all the big veins, and in the house they found capsules he had already swallowed, suspected of being an overdose in the middle of his life, informing the authorities.

“ She went out and collected water, and we went to hear the fall. We went to see that he had fallen. When he sold himself, he was bleeding and called the residents, so we called the police.”

Samuel Kabenge, a local journalist, told us that they have already contacted the police to find his relatives, but warned landlords to be cautious about giving a house to strangers.

According to the police, Tuhaisi's attempt to take over from this life came back with the money he sent to his family to do something about it and save it for him; however, they used it for their own business, and she has not had a starting point for self-deprecation.

Leaders in Mukono Municipality, led by Mukono Central Division Deputy Chairman  Zaid Sali, condemned the act where parents and friends eat the money of their children, and they have told us that they have some of the children who have been facing a similar problem in their areas.  They therefore advised them to go to the police because they had set up a desk which handled such matters.

“ We ask parents, and also those who are also reached with the money of your fellow children, to ensure that they are honest because your fellow children have passed  through many problems, and some even die working in the Arab houses.”

They also urged the government and the Minister of Children and Youth Affairs to come out to ensure that they are responsible for the tax on children who work abroad. They say this is one of the reasons why children get to this.

Police from Wantoni and Mukono main police visited the scene and rushed her to Mukono General Hospital for further management, as the investigation is still going on.
