KAMPALA, UGANDA – The Uganda Police Force has confirmed the arrest of Butambala County Member of Parliament, Hon. Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi.

In a statement released today, police spokesperson for the Katonga Region, SP Lydia Tumushabe, said the legislator is currently in custody and will be arraigned in court in due course.

The arrest is linked to recent incidents of political violence reported in Butambala.
