Restaurant operators in Fort portal city decry over continuous losses

A section of restaurant operators in Fort portal city have asked the office of the Prime Minister to have them considered among the beneficiaries of the 100,000/= expected to be dispatched to the vulnerable Ugandans during this Covid19 second wave lockdown.

Despite having been allowed to operate, restaurant owners have since realized fewer sales due to a small population in town with the majority of the people having shifted to villages.

With just a few days left for the office of the prime minister to start electronically sending cash to vulnerable Ugandans, those who were left out of the categories have cried out to be considered since they face the same challenges silently.

Some of these are restaurant operators in Fort portal city whose incomes have drastically lowered.

These have now asked for intervention from their leaders to have their names forwarded to the prime minister for consideration for the 100,000=.

These said they are soon being chased from the rooms where they operate from because they would be customers are boda bodas riders and other business people who currently are out of action.

According to the boda boda riders we spoke to in fort portal city, though they’re waiting for one hundred thousand on Thursday, the government would use the money to buy the vaccine and vaccinate people.
