317 URA trainees graduated as clearing agents today to work as east Africa’s clearing agents at Uganda’s borders.
At the graduation ceremony which took place at the Mestil hotel and apartments in Nsambya, the candidates were awarded east Africa customs and freight forwarding practice. On the same occasion the URA commissioner customs admonished them that since the technology is ever-changing, they need to continue learning because there is a lot that they still need to learn.
He further urged them to be transparent and sincere because thye will exposed to lots of temptations.
The chairperson of UFFA one of the organization that carried out the training said that more students have already been recruited and for those that have acquired the certificates, the diploma program is underway. Six students were awarded for excelling beyond others in the course of study.
The six-months training was funded by the government of Uganda, URA, the trademark Africa.
