The youths in the Kyaggwe county have started to add value on the cassava produced by baking bread out of it. Besides consuming cassava as food, the youths have resorted to making cassava cakes, bread, porridge and so forth. In the same way, the cassava peelings are used to make fuel charcoal in order to preserve the environment.
Through there joint group BASOSA from African academy the youths while at the Kyagwe Ssekibobo offices demonstrated how they process cassava to produce various products from which they earn income.
While officiating the ceremony, the Minister for Lands, agriculture, trade, cooperatives and community service (Bulungibwansi), urged the youths to adopt cooperative systems in order to prosper.
The Kyaggwe Ssekibobo Alex Benjamini Kigongo Kikonyogo appealed to the government to stop wasting money on those that can not use it productively and invest it instead in such creative and enterprising youths.
Richard Munani the head BASOSA Africa commended the youths for the great and quality work, therefore, he noted that they are headed to revolutionize the entire African continent.
