The slum dwellers football tournament that has produced numerous players for the past seven years including Keziron Kizito, Frank Zaga Tumwesige, Yasin Tugume among others.The tournament will kick off on Saturday with games for boys and girls under the age of 13; this year it has been named ‘Watoto Wa Soccer Slum Derby 2019’
“This is the 7th edition, being that it started in 2013, now for seven consecutive years, the tournament has been running. This year games will kick off this weekend 18th to 19th at Kazo. In our little capacity with great passion, we have been able to promote various young talented players such as; Tugume Ashraf here with us and more others who didn’t make here today like Kizza Mustafa, Frank Zaga, Goffi and Masudi playing in several clubs of Uganda premier league. The payers always come to encourage and support in various ways, for example, last season Keziron donated 10 balls to the platform that made him. All teams for both boys and girls are welcome to register and participate in the tournament as long as they in Uganda, as the girl’s tournament are open without so many restrictions,” said Francis Mugoya one of the organizers.
