Previously the IAAF banned some of the women from participating in the ladies category athletics because they have high testosterone levels in their bodies.
Among the player affected by this change include Caster Semenya a South African athlete, and Dorcus Ajok a 25-year-old Ugandan, in whom Uganda had a lot of hopes after participating in some of the international completions including the commonwealth games. Ajok says that she was greatly adversely affected by the decree though she can’t do anything about this.
Ajok is one of five hundred athletes that have participated in the two days final games closing the national calendar at Mandela national stadium.
The athletes participated in different race categories including 100, 1500, 400, and 10,000 meters.
Among other games include weight lifting, high jump, steeplechase.
Jacinta Nyamugange a Uganda athlete won the ladies’ 100-meter race with 11:68. Peter Mwai a Kenyan won the men’s 100-meter race, Sarah Chelangant won the 1500 meter race with 4:18:77 and so forth.
In the same, the completions were qualifiers for the All African games and world athletics in Doha, though most of the athletes have sidelined the all-African games to focus on IAAF world athletics championship.
