The African basketball federation has launched African nations cup for men a new tournament, this is majorly for home league players and only two players playing in foreign leagues, Uganda is among the nations to participate.

The zone five nations qualifiers 5(v) will be held in Uganda on 26 June-01 July 2019 at Lugogo indoor stadium, nine teams including Egypt, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda etc.

Silverbacks the male team and gazelles the female team line-ups have been unleashed today, the silverbacks training started today at Lugogo indoor stadium.

Out of the 16 players training, only 12 will be selected to play for the Silverbacks in the tournament. Deng Geu john 6’8 feet tall who plays with North Dakota team in the USA is one of the two players from abroad.

In the same way gazelle, the lady’s national basketball team has 2 players from abroad onboard including Natuhereza and Mavita Ali.
