The next cricket world cup will be held in India in 2023 following the recent 2019 cricket world cup that was in England the host and the champion.
Meanwhile, the qualifiers have already started, Uganda is among the teams participating in qualifiers. being among the best on the African continent, Uganda falls in the league B category. Therefore, yesterday a team of 14 player and 5 officials shifted to Oman to participate in the competitions.
David Katende from national council of sports handed the national flag to the team captain David Masaba who promised not to disappoint the nation they are representing. He also added that the team was selected basing on merit therefore no reason to worry.
Steven Tikolo is the team manager with David Ogwang is the assistant. The coach reassured that they are well conversant with the team they will be playing against therefore they not afraid of any.
Uganda will play five games starting with Jersey on 2nd - Dec, Kenya on 5th-dec, Bermuda on 6th-Dec, and Italy on 9th-dec and Hong Kong on the 11th –Dec. The team boarded yesterday to Oman for the competitions.
