Every morning at exactly 7 AM the boxing national team ‘the bombers’ kick-start a stern training up to 2 PM.
The team training at Lugogo grounds can barely be recognized as a national team according to the state of players & the environment they operate in.
Though the players win medals from the international competitions, Most of them reside in the slums and can barely access the basic needs, the boxers wad sugar canes to the to quench the severe thirst & hunger after the training.
Adnan Yassin one of the notable boxers on the team, after the training said that however much the training is complete, they have nothing to eat and the landlord is on his neck as he is already two months behind.
On Thursday the government gave 4.7b to FUFA, something that left the head of the boxing federation complaining and deeming the government selective. Further mentioned that they are struggling to prepare for the for all African games competition due to financial constraints.
The all-African games are set to kick off on 19 August 2019 in Morocco.
