She cranes have won the African netball competition with Salongo Vicent Kiwanuka as the coach, although he has been replaced with Rashid Mubiru as the team prepares for the African netball tournament set to kick off on the 16 October to 23 October in South Africa.
According to the national netball federations leaders, the coach was dropped because of the extra responsibility he has at NIC the club he is managing, therefore the national team looks forward to working with him again.
Twenty players have been selected, of which 16 players are currently training at Lugogo, the new coach stated that though they have very little time, he is ready utilize it and get the best they can. Although the new coach expressed concern on the criterion of selecting the team players since it the federation officials that did the selection.
Meanwhile, Uganda is heading to the African tournament just to months out of the world cup where it merged 7th which is the best place Uganda has ever attained at this level.
