The residents in Bunyangabu district have slashed the banana plantation of Angelika Murungi they accuse of bewitching others. Murungi the accused & owner of the plantation was destroyed is a resident of Kyanaga village Kagolo in Rwimi town council.

It is not the first time for this to happen as a similar incident happened in January in Rwimi town council. Angelica Mulungi says that residents together with leaders have turned against her as she further cited the kidnap of her son two years ago and has never surfaced since then. Clovis Magambo the village chairperson, on hearing the incident came to ascertain what had happened to the neighbor; in addition, Murungi’s husband carried some of the cut down plants to chairperson thinking that Magambo committed the offense.

Other leaders such as Posino Mutaba & IbrahimKyaligoza condemned the residents’ act of mob justice instead of reporting to the police or area leaders.
