A Year Since Rajiv Lost His Life In An Accident

One Year After Rajiv Rupareria’s Tragic Death, Family Honors His Memory by Helping Accident Victims

Kampala, Uganda – Exactly one year after a fatal car crash claimed the life of Rajiv Rupareria, the son of Ugandan billionaire Dr. Sudhir Rupareria, his family has chosen to mark the solemn anniversary not with mourning alone, but with a gesture of compassion.

Rajiv Rupareria died in a horrific road accident on the Entebbe Express Highway near Busabala. He was driving from Kampala to Munyonyo when his vehicle lost control, crashed into road barriers, caught fire, and was completely burnt beyond recognition.

Today, as the calendar marks one year since his passing, the Rupareria family – led by his sister Sheena Rupareria, his father Dr. Sudhir Rupareria, his mother Joystan Rupareria, his daughter Naiya, and other relatives and friends – gathered to remember him. Instead of private rites, they extended a helping hand to those who cannot help themselves.

Sheena Rupareria told our reporter that her brother was a man of the people, and that helping others was an integral part of his life. “That is why today, we remember him by reaching out to those in need,” she said.

The family specifically reached out to victims of road accidents from various districts across Uganda. The outreach event took place at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Dr. Sudhir Rupareria, the grieving father, also spoke to the press about the donation drive. He said everything they are doing in memory of their son is a reflection of the legacy Rajiv left behind – a legacy of generosity.

Professor Philippa Musoke, chairperson of the Mulago Hospital board, praised the Rupareria Foundation for the work of assisting accident survivors. She appealed to them not to stop at this single gesture but to continue supporting such causes.

Meanwhile, men and women who lost limbs after surviving road accidents expressed their deep gratitude to the Rupareria Foundation. They prayed that God would reward the family abundantly for their kindness.

Rajiv was the only son of Dr. Sudhir Rupareria. He was a young man who loved uplifting the poor, and his dream was always to put a smile on the faces of those in distress. Tragically, a road accident cut that dream short.
