Minister for public service in Uganda Muluri Mukasa has ordered the arts teachers to stop their industrial action and get back to work, he said this during the news press conference at media centre Kampala
According to minister it is unfair for teachers to act in this way, because it affects students studies and delaying the curriculum for this year
The strike for the arts teachers came after government of Uganda increased the salaries for science teachers leaving out Arts teachers.
This has led the union of teachers in Uganda ( UNATU) to stand behind the Arts teachers,
According to their chairman Filbert Baguma, he has called this act discriminative
and it is going to lead to poor performance among our education sector especially in government school.
He has called upon the government to revise its decision.
