Over 150 Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) soldiers have on Monday morning reportedly fled to Ugandan
Congolese refugees are in Uganda as sounds of gunfire are heard at the Bunagana border.
Uganda has tightened its borders as the presence of many heavily armed UPDF soldiers and police is visible at the border to prevent fighting to cross into Uganda.
Salt TV also managed to see some rebels patrolling at the Congolese side of the border and Refugees converging at the border looking at how Rebels are patrolling the Town of Bunagana.
Hajji Shafique Ssekandi Ssengoba, Kisoro Resident District Commissioner says that the security situation is very tense at the border.
Ssekandi adds that more than 30,000 civilians have on Monday morning fled to Bunagana and when asked about the FARDC soldiers who have fled to Uganda, Ssekandi says that his office is not the right to give the information but rather as press we should contact the office of PRO UPDF.
He says that businesses in Bunagana have been closed and owners run away.
Daniel Kisamo in the office of the Prime Minister Nyakabade Holding centre says that his office is managing the situation and the holding centre can accommodate all the refugees.
By press time, M23 rebels were heard firing bullets in the air as a sign of victory to conquer Bunagana border, the main connection to Uganda-Rutshuru and Goma towns in Rutshuru territory.
