PWDs negelected in Kasese

People living with disabilities in Kasese district have rubbished the public perception that they can hardly live a life like the rest of the people.

These say they do have goals that perhaps the non-disabled people don’t have but they feel they have not been given enough chances to prove their capabilities.

This was observed during Emyooga SACCO’s training that was held at White House Gardens in Kasese town.

According to the statistics from the micro finance support centre on Emyooga program in Kasese district, indicates that people living with disabilities have performed 100%.

The zonal manager micro finance support centre, Mbogha Emanuel revealed that Kasese People Living with disabilities they’re SACCOs have performed well followed other Sacco’s.

He therefore said people living with disabilities Sacco qualify to benefit from the more than twenty million project.

Speaking to the Chairperson for People Living with Disabilities in Kasese Municipality, Mrs. Roset Monday said their target is to reduce disabled baggers from streets of Kasese and bring board.

She condemned the manner in which the general public is treating them, adding that by God’s will the perception of negative attitude on PWD’s will end.


Wilson Bwambale Ngene, the Kasese Emyooga Regional Coordinator said the intended purpose of Emyooga is to have 68% of Ugandans establish and embrace small-scale business for financial inclusion.

The training was aimed at training the Sacco leaders on book keeping and Finance Governance.
