KIDNAPPER’S BODY BURNT TO ASHES BY ANGRY RESIDENTS

The Body of the killed serial kidnapper Amos Mugume that was to be buried today has instead been burnt to ashes by Angry Residents in Mugura Rubingo Ward, Fort Portal North Division.


The Body was picked from Fort portal Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary at around 1pm and transported to Rubingo for final sendoff.
Shortly after the body was taken at his ancestral house, the angry residents started demanding the family to give out the body to be burnt as a punishment. Failure to adhere to their demands, the angry residents stormed the house, picked the casket, beat the body and burnt it to ashes.



After three hours, police rushed to the scene but found the body already burnt.
Joseph Mashuhuuko and Muhumuza Richard the Central and North Division Mayor Elect respectively told residents to remain calm, maintain peace and asked criminals to learn from Amos’s death.



The OC Station Fort Portal Police Station Afande Lorrica Emmey attributed all the circumstances that surrounded Amos’s death and burial to his criminal acts.
Mugume a suspected habitual thug, rapist and kidnapper meant his death on Friday morning 9th April, 2021 when he was shot dead by security personnel in Bukwali cell, Central Division, Fort Portal City.
