COVID-19: Uganda’s Cases Soar To 248 As 21 More Drivers Test Positive

Uganda’s COVID-19 case have risen to 248 after more 21-truck drivers tested positives, the ministry of health released the results this morning.

 Out of the 21 cases 17 cases were from the Elegu border entry, 3 were from Mutukula and 1 from Malaba border point. The tests were a portion of 1,324 samples taken on Sunday.

According to the ministry of health all the 253-commmunity samples tested negative for COVID-19.

 “All truck drivers must undergo COVID-19 testing and receive results before proceeding to immigration at the borders. Foreign truck drivers who test positive for COVID 19 are advised to return to their place of origin for treatment while Ugandan truck drivers will be admitted at the various hospitals for treatment” said Dr Henry G. Mwebesa in a press release

 Uganda now has 185 active cases, 63 cases have so far recovered and a total of 248 cases

The global case currently stands at 4,819,086, total deaths 316,957 and 1,864,154 recovered cases.
