Apolo Nsibambi was born on 25 October 1940. He is the son of Simeon Nsibambi, who together with John E. Church led the Balokole or the "East African Revival" movement. Nsibambi attended King's College Budo for his high school education.

There is an outbreak of the fall armyworm which have attacked the maize crops of farmers in Mbale district, many maize gardens around Mbale are seen with very poor maize plants and show no hope of giving good yields at the end, the army eat up the inner maize plant leaving it with no maize comb to bare and later the maize dries up.

The 17-kilometre road connects two parishes of Kyakanyemera and Nyakahama in Kahunge Sub County. The district repaired it about two weeks ago at a tune of 21 million shillings by the Uganda Road Fund – URF.

A neighbour identified as Nalwoga poured burning oil on Nakuya Betty of Ttula Mukidokolo zone Kawempe division, who was frying cassava chips for customers.

Nakuya who was at her home nursing wounds and in great pain, narrated that Nalwaoga was formally working with her in charcoal vending business until she decided to oust her on grounds of being ill-mannered.

The national planning authority has argued that Uganda will not benefit from oil unless Ugandans are trained about oil refinery. Joseph Muvawala the executive director of NPA says that Ugandans are eagerly waiting but they will be disappointed, as all jobs will go to the foreigners because of unpreparedness of the locals.
