Kenyana president Dr.William Ruto recently assented to the GMO following the prolonged food crises in some parts of the country as a result of prolonged drought and poor harvest.

In the mean time Kenya has lifted ban on Uganda's diary products and farmers across the country are anxious to benefit from the deal.

These have joined a section of legislators who objected the GMO bill and proposal last week insisting that it has enormous side effects on the local breeds not only in food production but also animal husbandry.
