The Minister of Gender, Culture and Development Hon. Peace Mutuuzu, has advised all farmers in Bunyangabu District to get into business of farming that is improve their income base.
Hon. Mutuuzu was talking to citizens during the handover of 2 tractors to the farmers and 14 diameter culverts to the beneficiaries of this new District at a function held at Bunyangabu district headquarters.
The beneficiaries includes Buheesi, Rubona, Kyamukube town councils and six sub counties including Kabonero, Kisomoro among others.
She revealed that the fatality rate of their soil in Bunyangabu district has gone down thus urging farmers to embrace vanilla growing, which she said, pays good money.
Hon. Mutuuzu also called on the people to avoid wasting time in cold wars saying this retards development.
The minister of defense, Adoloph Mwesigye thanked farmers in the district for the blessing of government tools given to them aiming at supporting their farming activities. He assured a lots coming their way.
He warned against the habit of government fund misappropriation by civil servants.
The LC 5 chairperson Bunyangabu District, Ategyeka James challenged the public that government programs are progressing well in different parts of the district.
Meanwhile, Silver Tweyongere Chairperson of Farmers Rwimi Town Council the farmers’ called upon government to get them proper seeds, machines to help them in value addition and linking them to the world market.
