Residents of Buwanda village in masafu parish, masafu sub county in Busia District, have raised concerns about the caterpillars, in locusts size, which have invaded their crops grown in the area.
The residents allegedly said that the caterpillars started by eating up the leaves on the trees which were planted by stanbic bank, Busia branch to the community, on the land next to masafu District hospital.
As if that was not enough, they added that the artificial Forest now it has become a habitant of thieves and more dengerous animals to people and others end up eating birds from homes like hens, turkey and livestock at various homes around. They finally requested the District of Busia to at least to come up with a mechanism to solve all these problems.
