UPDF Takes Off For E.Africa Army Games

A group of 110 UPDF soldiers have been sent to Nairobi participate in the 12th east African army sports.

Among the games to be played include soccer, volleyball, netball and athletics, basketball and so forth. The games will last for 2 weeks starting 12th – 14th august.

While setting off from ministry of defence Mbuya with a team of 85 players and 25 officials, lt gen Wilson Mbaddi the deputy UPDF commander appealed to the players to represent well the UPDF.

Six countries will be participating in the games which include; Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda & South Sudan.

Col John Mark the team captain and UPDF head of sports said that the team is well prepared therefore they optimistic about the games.

The games take place in tow a two-interval and they intended to strengthen the relationship among the E.Africa armies and states.
