The residents of Budadiri town council in Sironko district have rejected the plans by the chief administrative officer of Sironko Magumba Eria to bring back Dr Chabert Benjamin the former in charge of Budadiri health centre 4 to work. Residents like Moje Moses, Mafabi Vincent and others say they will not allow DR Chabert back in the health centre because he was caught stealing drugs last year and all the district leaders and police witnessed his arrest.
Residents claim their lives will be in danger because this Dr Chebert may want to revenge against some community members who arrested him, they are also surprised how can police failed to jail such a person who was caught red-handed with 150 dozes of drugs at health centre gate.
Muyonga Simon who is the chairman management Budadiri health centre 4 says the life of Dr Chebert may be in danger if he is posted back to this health centre, because the community members are still bitter with him, he would, therefore, advise the dr to be posted in another part of Uganda to save his life.
However when we reached the CAO Sironko district office Magumba Eria said he was forced to repost Dr Chebert to work because he was threatening to sue the district for overstaying his interdiction for over a year and yet according to the law it was met to take only 6 month, so the CAO blames the statehouse for not speeding up the case of this dr to be taken to court, and therefore he followed the law to left the doctors' interdiction to allow him to go back to work.
Magumba added on that he learnt that the community is not welcoming back the Dr Chebert in the health centre to work because of the bad records he had with the community, and according to that as the CAO he has nothing to do for the Dr Chebert but he will write to ministry of health about the matter and get the way ford, but most likely the Doctor May be forced to retire in public interest if there is no community welcoming him.
Some residents mostly say they put to say in the line to wait for medicine for a whole day in the queue and yet they are sick, while pregnant mothers said in most cases they are sent to buy their own mama kits.
However the in charge of the hospital DR. BOFU Levi said as a hospital they need government to increase on their funding for medicine they get from NDA, from Shs12 up to Shs20 million this he says may help , and on the issue of mama kits, DR. BOFU says they only receive 100 mama kits and yet the mothers who need them are more than 300 per month.
