Electronic Land Title System Fails To deliver

State Minister for Hon Namuganza Persis has dismissed claims that the new computerized system has not been successful especially in the areas of Mityana District.

Her remarks follow concerns made by Kasanda North MP Patrick Nsamba Oshabe who had asked parliament to intervene saying some offices are not functional yet land issues remain a big challenge in the country.

Namuganza says the introduction of an electronic computerized system is going to reduce forgeries in the Ministry compared to the manual system, which is being practised.

She says other countries where it’s now applied in 14 countries after it has been fully studied by the United Nations have adopted the system.

Namuganza disclosed that the ministry is only facing challenges from the refugees who are also demanding to have land title after engaging into Agricultures.

The minster, however, says it’s putting stringent measures where one can be identified by the issuance of national IDS.
