As the registration of war veterans is ongoing in some of the districts across the country, hundreds of Busia veterans gathered at the district headquarters for registration & verification army numbers Lt. Col. Oguttu and the women MP Hon. Jane Nabulindo spearheaded this exercise.

While addressing the Veterans assured them about getting their retirement packages and gratuity as an appreciation for the military effort rendered to bring the current government in power

Lt. Col. Oguttu said that the packages that the government is going to pay veterans are only for world war II & NRA war veterans, he also added that deserters will not be considered.

Still, enraged veterans cautioned the government to quit tricks & undermining them though they played a big role in this country

Veterans said enough is enough, therefore, they resorted to working together as a team to boycott the 2021 one presidential general election unless the government considers them

He said the government has turned them to be useless people, therefore, the only thought of a solution of forgetting their retirement and gratuity packages and also not to vote in 2021 election

Veterans also said they want HE the president of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kagutta Museveni meet Busia veterans so that He addresses their issues before 2021

The women member of parliament Hon Jane Nabulindo while speaking to press said the reason why these veterans have not yet received their retirement packages is that no one has been following up their issues and presenting it to president
