Rwenzururu Kingdom Queen Mother Passes On

The queen mother Biira Christine Mukirania of Rwenzururu kingdom who also doubles, as the mother of the king of Rwenzururu was today’s morning reported dead.

She died at Kilembe mines hospital, Bulembya division in Kasese Municipality where she was admitted on 28-May-2019 after being transferred from Kasese Hospital where she had spent quite a while.

According to the Kilembe hospital administrator Mr Kibaya Onesmus, the Queen mother died at around 11:40 am today shortly after they were about to transfer her to Mulago referral hospital where she had been referred to go for further medical attention. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been taken to the regional referral mortuary in Fort Portal.

However, when asked what could have caused the death of the Queen Mother, Kibaya stressed that as administration they can’t reveal the cause of death arguing that postmortem will reveal the final report.

Bigogo Godfrey the Lc-V chairperson Kasese district within a sorry mood confirmed the death of the queen mother saying she was one of the very most important people in the district and prays that the almighty judge her with mercy.

Salt media reporter talking to the Son of the deceased William Kibanzanga, he said they have nothing to do as a family adding that burial arrangements will be communicated by the spokesperson of the ‘Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu’ kingdom spokesperson.
