Nakasongola District LC1 Chairpersons Demand For A Pay Rise

The chairpersons in the Nakasongola district have appealed to the government to increase on their remuneration form the Shs10000 that receive at the beginning of the year, which is not enough.

The chairpersons were in a meeting with Margret Kyomuhangi the area MP in Nikiswera sub-county Nakasongola district.

The leaders went further to moan over the severe and extensive drought, which has led to the price of 20litre Jerri-can to a price between Shs1500 to Shs2000. in addition the boreholes in place are no longer functional.

The NRM chairperson Nakitoma sub-county has stressed his concern on the issue of cattle theft that has become rampant in the area and appealed to the government to intervene. Kyomuhangi required the security officials to set up checkpoints targeting those transferring cattle from the area, stating that it is some of the residents with this habit.
